the soft summer air is fading away...
i realize i rarely update with anything meaningful anymore, but yesterday was just one of those days i guess...
one of my lifelong dreams has been to see lifehouse in concert...so needless to say i was estatic when i bought the tickets, and even more thrilled that all of my favorites were coming with me...but then my summer took a total 360 when jon entered my life. since he was supposed to leave for school the day after the concert (which was in grand rapids), i was seriously considering selling my tickets. but after some scolding by mary and convincing on jons part i decided to go. the person i was supposed to go w/ to the concert decided to ignore my calls, so i got to take my cousin instead :). jon came over yesterday morning for a lil bit, then me mary and todd left for g/r. we took a little pit stop at my amazing aunts house, had some pizza, then went to the concert.
holy shit.
it was incredible.
i was really bummed because katie, josh and brian couldnt stay for the whole thing :( but it was truly amazing. the venue was really really small, probably about the size of stevensons gym if not smaller, so we were really really close to the stage. i called alia during "everything" because shes the one who introduced me to the song and the band in the first place (oh so many years ago! i love you darling), and i called jon during "you and me" (but i dont think he could hear 0:-) ). i was literally shaking during the last half of the concert...if you like them you HAVE to see them in concert because they sound COMPLETELY different.
we got out around 10 30, dropped off tommy and got some food, then got on the road around 11 45. we made incredible time considering mary was going 100 the entire way. we got to the 6 mile exit around 1 15...and we got pulled over lol. great times!
i went over to jons around 2 to say goodbye :( :( we both had made each other cds which were incredibly similar lol, i gave him a lil care package and he gave me a teddy bear wearing a u of Dayton jacket. i helped him pack for a little bit, then i stayed with him for a while to say goodbye. i'm proud of myself for holding the tears til i left. its going to be so hard to go through the next 2 weeks without him, because i've spent literally every day with him for the last 3 weeks...21 days in a row!! he really made my summer amazing. i miss him :(
i'm teaching tonight, then going back out to grand rapids for the weekend with mary (something tells me the trip will take alot longer than yesterday!). i really hope being away will help me keep my mind off the fact that hes gone :(
