To Those in the Know

Mar 16, 2009 20:10

Mums and Mad Dog have been staying with us lately, because Mums isn't handling Thomas being missing so well. Not that I am either, but she's...not so good. Today we went through pictures. I think she's losing hope. But she wanted me to post these because she said she wanted them shared. They're not easy for me to look at right now, because I ( Read more... )

Such a beautiful man. I hadn't seen that photo from his younger days before. My goodness... he's younger than me there. Simply adorable.

I love his smile, too. It's good to see it. A reminder, as if I needed one, of exactly what I'm striving to see again.

But oh, he looks fabulous in black and white.

Inside and out, if I can say that from a brotherly perspective. I love how very innocent he looks in that photo, though we all know in a lot of ways he really wasn't. Though I guess...in some ways, he still was.

You will see it again, Spectre. You will see your husband again, and you will hear him tell you how much he loves you. I just know that.

I was fond of the beach photo, because he looks so at home. All sandy and wet and happy. Like he wants to sleep there. I bet he would...

I know exactly what you mean, from your brotherly perspective. I like seeing him still have some of that innocence. Not as innocent, perhaps, as we would hope a young man could be. But obviously happy, and loved and loving, enough to make up for it.

Your faith means a lot to me, Joe. And wherever Thomas is, I'm sure it means a lot to him, too. Whether he sees you or not, he'll know you have it.

Yes, I do love to see Thomas on the beach! He belonged there more than I've ever seen anyone else do. I'd love to have a place by the seaside we could just go whenever we liked, someday.

Certainly always loved and loving. And selfless. And there he was all proud because he managed to get fantastic marks even though he never really was all that interested in school. He wanted to do good works, not read about them.

My faith never wavers. Not in the people I love.

I think that's beautiful, Spectre. I have no doubt you'll have that and Thomas will be thrilled. I wonder if James is a waterbaby too?

I miss him so much. I can come see you guys, if the company would help. I find it's always easier to remember together. And together, we can hope for more memories. I want to see him dance like that again, and do various things to make Adam chase him with kitchen utensils...

I do too, Tasha. And of course you can come see us. It always helps and I hope it helps you too. There will certainly be memories. I want to see him dance and participate in the chasing.

Thomas was miffed when Adam accidentally got him with the tongs...

I'm glad it helps you guys, because it really does help me too. Being surrounded by people who know and love Thomas so well. He became one of my best friends before we'd really even realised it. His heart is just that splendid.

I have a feeling there might be some inverted commas around that "accidentally"...

It's like that with him. He makes it so simple. And yes, his heart really is.

I think so too... And Thomas then chased Adam with the salad tongs and insanity ensued.

What an amazing photo Caitlin took. It's so poignant... they created a true work of art together. Hell, just about everything Thomas did was a work of art. Particularly his dress sense. That last black and white one? Yum. I may have to frame that.

I'm sure Mums would be glad to share a print with you if you want a good copy. She's quite generous. And yes, he was rather an artist. A life artist. He usually made living seem so easy. Even when he was dead.

That watch photo sort of gives me the chills. Like he knew he only had so much time left. And he did. He admitted he knew Amaris was probably going to be the end. Which I hate. I hate that he lived knowing that.

Lavinia is wonderful. Thank you, I'd love that so much. I really like the idea of Thomas as a life artist. He's definitely someone I'd want to live like.

I was thinking exactly the same thing about the watch photo. It says so much... it's heartbreaking and inspiring all at once.

He's always been an inspiration to me. And I'll ask Mums for you.

It really does. The expression on his face...everything. Like he's ready, and resigned both at once. I do love that man.
