Let's Speculate on SBR
Since this comm hasn't had much discussion, I thought I'd post to get the ball rolling.
So, with regards to Steel Ball Run,
1. Who do you think is ultimately going to win the race?
And
2. Is Gyro doomed?
I don't want Gyro to die. He can't die. ;_;
BUT. I cannot think of one good reason why Araki should let him live. Let us review Araki-sensei's record. Excluding part 4, if you total it up, he has killed off around half of the main cast every series, and probably over, depending how you count some parts. SBR differs from the other Jojo series in that there isn't a Jojo group, just Gyro and Johnny. So like someone said in chat, there's not just going to be that much emotional impact if one of the other characters dies, because we haven't had that much time to get attached to them. -sensei likes to kill off characters, in the most painful of ways. Anyway, we know that Johnny cannot die, because he's narrating the start in retrospect. So that leaves Gyro. And his analogue, Will A. Zeppeli, also died.... Oh, okay, I actually have no expectation that Gyro will live. At least let him triumph, though? Somehow? What about lil' Marco?
