One day. in late-early 2011, Vinnie, now in his early-late 20s, celebrated his 27th birthday. And it was fantastic ^_^
We started it with tea and crumpets (made by the awesome and incredible Ellen!) smothered in butter and jam. Then we futzed around a bit until we got hungry again and went to
Remedy Teas for brunch/lunch, it was wonderful, they're wonderful. He got this delicious jasmine blueberry green tea while we were there.
We went home and I was finally able to give him my present (
Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind - the manga!), which he managed to read all in one sitting ^_^ And while he did that I managed to finish my scarf (which was to be finished for last fall) just in time for spring! In the middle of our reading/knitting marathon I snuck up and made up some chocolate chip cookies, compliments of the awesome and incredible Ellen! who sent me home with a huge bag full of cookie dough in addition to her home made crumpets. Luckily we had thought ahead and grabbed some milk on our way home from Remedy. We both then took a break to dunk our still warm from the oven cookies into our mugs of cream top milk... mmmmmmmmm. I'm so glad I still have both milk and cookie dough left over.
So after Vinnie finished the last book in the saga and I finished the scarf we finally headed over to
The Broadway Grill for dinner, amazing as always! I brought home a box of roasted garlic mashed potatoes mixed up with beef bourguignon, mushrooms, and pearl onions with a rosemary dinner roll on top. Needless to day breakfast this morning was amazing... Halved, toasted and buttered rosemary roll with the potato, bourguignon, mushroom, and onion mush warmed up and scooped on, topped with two eggs fried in butter (accidentally but perfectly browned), garlic powder and thyme. SO GOOD.
