Can I have my cake and eat it too?
I just saw The Prestige--pretty good. Still working out the kinks and details in my head. Christian Bale is genius.
Today was 2 kids' birthdays in the class my office is in. One we passed out cupcakes earlier in the day and he kindly offered me one. The second one had a cake passed out at the end of the day. I was busy setting up for clubs and there was one waiting for me on my desk. I figured the teacher had decided to leave me one (she's very thoughtful) so I went to thank the child for the cake. He was confused--unaware that I had one. I told him I saw it on my desk. I went to speak to some volunteers out in the hall. When the dismissal bell rang, he flew by me and yelled "Amy, I took the piece of cake back! Bye!!" and off he ran with my piece back in his cake pan. :-( Luckily I had stolen a piece earlier in the day when they were at recess.
He's a nice kid and usually likes me, but I think he likes cake more.
