[bzzt! A stifled curse is audible, and a sigh.]

...It's been more than a month. Souji....

Snow in August ruins the metaphor.

I'm going out. Are there any monsters that have been posing a particular problem?

ic, not happy, killing is therapeutic

You think so? I can think of a sijo where the rain is a metaphor for cleansing! I guess it's a bit different here where the rain destroys everything... Autumn snow sijos are a bit harder.

Korean?

...and a scouring rain could work for that image. I was working on something about cold winds when it started to snow.

Makes it too obvious.

That's right! Poetry originated in me, after all!

It doesn't have to be obvious! You know, I just thought of one:

The rain has no mercy for those who criticize Korean idols.
Morning Musume CDs now nothing but a crisp,
The memory of the Wonder Girl's melodies burnt into my heart!

You'll have to do better than that to be so arrogant.

...Hijikata Toshizo. Your name?

What!? Nothing is more deep than the Wonder Girls! And comparing them to Morning Mususme, that's why they haven't made their American debut yet!

Japan knew a guy named that once! I'm Korea!

You're speaking gibberish. Whose daughter?

I know you're Korean. What's your name?

I don't know who their dads are; usually you don't want to know that kind of information about an idol...

But I'm really Korea!

Morning Musume! The all-girl Japanese idol group? As I thought, there are people here who don't even know about Japanese idol groups because they're that fanatic about Korean idol groups! The Wonder Girls are really wonderful, aren't they!

Really! There was a whole announcement about it, didn't you hear? It's been awhile since anybody called me by my human name, but... Im Yong Soo! That's my human name!

I don't know what an "idol group" is. Some sort of obscure religious thing?

...Im Young Soo. Very well. It's a pleasure to meet you.

It doesn't have anything to do with Buddha! Idol groups are all the rage nowadays! Do you at least know some of the boy idol groups? Tohoshinki? Epik High? Big Bang? SS501? Super Junior!?

You can just call me aniki, though!

When is "nowadays"? Are you another of those people from the future?

No.

Hyundai? I'm not from the future, I'm just into the times! If I was talking about Deux, I'd be stuck in 1993!

You don't have to be shy about it, even Japan calls me aniki!

1993...? That's the future. By more than a hundred years.

I will refer to you by your name.

A hundred years!? You're from when Japan was a kid! I bet he's all tiny from when you are!

Yong Soo-nii is a little formal, don't you think?

Hardly. Japan has endured for almost two thousand years. The Tokugawa shogunate alone is more than two hundred years old.

Yong Soo-san will be sufficient.
