Just because you're the orphan
It's interesting how our work schedules turned out for this week. And goes on to prove the pattern that the instant you plan a Larp weekend guaranteed they suddenly send you WAY out north as the only person with the clearance and ability to go fix a nightmare. Oh there's another that can do it, but that one tends to pass; a lot; on these late Friday trips. >shrug< Hard to argue the travel and overtime pay. But it means one has to figure if you stick to the original plans, and both myself and the Overunit figured "heck no". Mind you this was also seeing that Sunday was a "wash too". The whole Mother's day thing.
Which is odd, as they scheduled me to work that day due to...well not having one. That is part of the logic behind it. So Saturday became the "day early" mother's day which worked out really well.
But you know it's actually been a very calm and good productive time of late. Likely as according to the Overunit a lot of "toxic and using people" got washed out of lives. >shrug< I would try to argue that, except for the consistent positive results of late, good fortune, good karma paid forward to people who really do need and deserve it, and overall just plain reduction in stress.
Maybe it's why for the remaining duration before her swearing in I'm committing the "defer to your judgement" regarding her view on the world. I'd go into her complete breakdown but I can sum it with "Queenie was Right" and "You're right, let it die.". Odd mix that but sometimes the Overunit comes up with some pretty odd yet correct observations. No wonder I married her.
In other news it was fun having the Overunit attend one of those "procedures" at the audiologist where she got to learn just how little I exaggerate about the whole "plugging into my ears" thing. Yes that does tend to gross and freak some people out when the filters come out and the "jacks go in" and then they have it all hooked to the computer and start programming. Heh, I have suggested while they are in there can they add a bit more Kung Fu. (Like, whoa.....) I figure one of these days I'll wake up with the Overunit at a laptop and a jack plugged into me typing in a few requests...
That reminds me, I have to follow up this week to make sure she is sticking to her gym schedule and training. Might end up using the joint part late at night myself.
