I suppose it's time for another infrequent update. Umm... (I'm as articulate as ever.)
People here really don't celebrate Mardi Gras. In the words of one of my professors: "Yeah, we have beads like that here, but we only give them out at four-year-old's birthday parties. Welcome to New England." Yes ma'am. Thank you very much.
Classes are good, but busy. I absolutely adore my phonology class. We do the most amazing labs, and I am learning so much. Syntax is still a necessary evil. Korean is also good, but far more intense than last semester. My seminar and Japanese history class both require large amounts of reading, but it's reading I actually want to do, so that helps.
I'm still singing in a choir. We got our CD from last semester, and it's amazing. However, I am thinking about dropping it (the choir, not the CD). We're doing precisely the same style of music that we did last semester, so it's getting a bit old. That's still in flux.
I've also begun a new volunteer activity in lieu of the Chinatown escapades of last semester. It's called Project Literacy, and it involves one-on-one tutoring with an adult ESOL learner for a semester. It's very enjoyable, and Roger is doing it with me, which doubles the fun.
Friday night was lots of fun. It was my friend Joyce's birthday, and we had a surprise party after boba that terminated in movie-watching. Always pleasant.
I'm still watching Gray's Anatomy religiously. I love that show. If you don't watch it, you really out to give it a try sometime!
I believe that's all of general interest for now. So I bit you adieu. ;-)
