Thinking out loud.

I actually managed to get everything I wanted to get done today accomplished. I should now be ready to for the weekend.

I worked a six and then took the bus down to the DMV. My car is now officially un-license-plated, unregistered and ready for the junkyard. Temporary moving permit obtained for Friday to allow one last trip to the junker. It was relatively easy, which is good as if it were complicated, I don't think I would have managed it.

I can't believe I went to the DMV without any tunes or a book to read.

Then back on the bus and across town to my allergist just in time to get my shots. Then back downtown where I stopped off at the farmer's market for bread, fruit and a yummy fried veggie plate.

I know it doesn't sound like a lot, but I've been trying to get my car dealt with for months now. It should have been junked back in April at the latest.

I also rode the local bus system for the first time and learned a bit, which will come in handy for my new car-less existence. The buses are much cleaner and nicer than the San Francisco buses, not as nice as the Golden Gate Transit ones. They weren't very crowded even on main routes at rush hour.

I bought much needed new shoes yesterday on the way home from work.

So some prep work on my book stock, a quick email or two, reserving a car for the weekend and getting some sleep and I'm ready for the weekend. I should probably update my want lists as well. I should probably find my latest want lists.

The plan is to drop my car off at the junkyard in Windsor Friday morning and have the car rental company pick me up there. Then it's down to the east bay for a quick trip through the bookstores in Berkeley with old stock, and into the city to drop off books at Borderlands and with Ron at Kayo and Green Apple (Yeah, cool comic grrl book buyer).

Anyone want to meet up Friday for a FyDySyFy at the Hyatt?

Saturday will be an early trip to Pleasant Hill, then on to BritGeekGrrls 's place to help her out and collect some of her books, then on to local bookstores, back to P Hill for restocking, followed by a mad dash into the city to drop off books at Borderlands, pick up any from Friday they have gone through and try to get to Green Apple before their buy desk closes (boo evil bald book buyer on duty)  and then just some general fun in the city if I can find anything to do

Hmm. Dark Room Theater is doing their Twilight Zone thing again. Never been, wonder if it's any good.Didn't I see a review in SF/SF a while back?

Sunday: errands around town before work while I still have a rental car, then back to work.
