Challenge 17 - Luck of the Toss

Apr 19, 2011 23:33

Apologies for my lack of participation - as usual real life and personal issues for in the way.  Hopefully not for much longer though - and I'm hoping getting more involved will help to take my mind off of things.  Anyway, enough with the boring stuff and on with the fic - 300 words on the dot!

Prompt; Old

River winced as she stood, rubbing her hand at the base of her back.

“You’re getting old, River Song,” laughed Amy as she bounced up with ease, slipping her arms around her lover’s waist.

River let out a small snort, bringing her arms to rest atop Amy’s. “And you’re getting cheeky.”

“Getting cheeky?”

Chuckling, River couldn’t help but grin. “You’re right, you called me old, you’re well beyond cheeky. You’re positively terrible. We travel around with a 900 year old time-lord in a box and call me old?” She spun in Amy’s arms. “But you’re lucky, nice little well behaved girls have never been my type.”

Amy grinned back at the woman in her arms. “Oh really? So, just what is your type?”

“Well, you know, tall, dark hair, mocha skin…” she trailed off into giggles as Amy whacked her arm.

“And you call me terrible?” Amy turned her head, pretending to ignore River.

The older woman placed gentle hand on Amy’s cheek, turning her face back towards her. “I think we both know there’s only one girl who’s my type now.”

Amy melted at the sweet little smile on her lover’s face. Her favourite smile. It wasn’t the sexy smirk, nor the sassy confident smile she faced the world with. No, this one was exclusively reserved for Amy, and she loved it. “It better be me.”

River chuckled, her thumb gently stroking Amy’s pale cheek. “Course it is!” she said, crushing their lips together. When they finally pulled back both were breathless, with even bigger grins on their faces. “So long as you don’t mind being with an ‘old’ woman, that is?” challenged River.

Amy pretended to pause and think for a moment. “I think as long as you stay just as irresistibly sexy I can just about cope.”
