Everyday Habits
SOME THINGS TO KNOW IF YOU LIVE WITH HARU, VISIT OFTEN, ETC because she is a weirdo and may have bizarre habits. :|b Also known as "A Guide To How Bel & Accelerator Can Annoy Her On a Daily Basis."
♦ Being your own boss means, for the most part, making your own hours. So her sleeping hours are kind of random. She'll be up in the morning to make sure the first floor is clean and up in the evening to make sure dinner is on time, but other than that? It's hit or miss as to whether she's out and about, napping on the sofa, or sleeping in her room for a few hours.
♦ Sleep-talks! Yes, even when napping. And since she has really bizarre dreams? She probably says some really weird things.
♦ Is a fairly heavy sleeper. Also sleeps with stuffed animals. Yes, even at her age.
♦ Keeps financial records of everything. They are very organized and concise and she could rattle off several details at random.
♦ Has a very specific housework schedule and sticks to it like clockwork. Vacuuming on Mondays, bathroom on Wednesdays, laundry on Thursdays, that sort of thing.
♦ Doesn't do much work on Sundays in general, but does the bare minimum on Haru Appreciation Day. It is a day for relaxing and having fun. :|b
♦ Goes out for sushi once a week. Usually, but not always, on saturday.
♦ She tends to sing or hum to herself while doing things like chores, sewing, cooking, etc. But does not sing in the shower. Songs are likely to be in Japanese, Chinese, or Italian.
♦ Is a big fan of J-Dramas. DOES NOT LIKE TO MISS HER J-DRAMAS. And she is one of those people who makes noises when they watch stuff. :|b Not so much talking to the TV as making noises such as "Hahi?!" at it when there are BIG REVEALS, etc.
♦ Also a big fan of dirty romance novels and manga. Her library has lots of them. SHE WILL NEVER LET YOU CATCH HER READING THEM and if she is caught she will blush like a beet and try to hide the evidence.
♦ Does Ikebana, so various flower arrangements around the house are pretty usual.
♦ "We live as Shintoists, but die as Buddhists." Like most of the Japanese population, she's both of these, and as such they influence her daily life in ways such as the Ikebana, meditation, and praying that the animal that died for her dinner will be able to go to Buddha before eating it. :|b She's also very superstitious. Does not, however, obligate her guests (or Accelerator) into doing any of these things.
♦ Takes extremely good care of her pets. Almost to an obsessive degree; they might as well be little animal-shaped children with how important their happiness and quality of life is to her.
♦ Cooks mostly Japanese food, but Italian food is also a favorite of hers. Whatever she makes is usually pretty damn healthy because she is kind of neurotic about gaining weight. She is, however, weak to snacking and sweets and as Mammon-kun so cruelly pointed out SHE ALWAYS HAS ROOM FOR NIBBLING. :|
♦ Which means random frustrated screams or gleeful squeals coming from the bathroom at daily shower time whenever she gains or loses a few pounds. 8| Weight gain may directly cause a sudden need for daily walks and lots of yoga.
♦ Likes to sit out on the balcony in the evenings to knit or sew or do other hobbies that keep her hands busy.
♦ Will scream and fuss if she finds bugs or rodents in the house, but always shoos them outside and never kills them.
♦ Is a bit of a tea snob. Not so much when she's making tea for snack time for other people, but enjoys taking her time during tea ceremony. :|
♦ Likes to take lots of pictures randomly and keep photo albums.
♦ Uses the pink bathroom almost exclusively. BOYS ARE NOT ALLOWED IN HER GIRLY PINK BATHROOM UNLESS THERE IS SOME REASON THEY CANNOT USE THE BLUE ONE. >O Mammon-kun and Chrome-chan are always allowed to use it though. :Db
♦ She gets fussy if someone is in her kitchen while she is cooking unless they're sitting at the table out of the way. And if they are sitting at the table, that obviously means they want to mince veggies or flatten dough or any number of small chores that would make them useful.
♦ Always has cookies in the cookie jar. Also always has a bowl of fruit on the table. Whatever's in it usually depends on what's in season.
♦ Food is allowed in rooms that are not the kitchen, but empty, dirty dishes are not. She will nag if you finish your food and leave the plate sitting there. And it won't even be because of bugs. It'll be something dumb like "IT ATTRACTS GREEDY GREMLINS AND THEN MAMMON-KUN WILL FEEL JEALOUS." No, really.
♦ She rarely drinks and never drinks to get drunk. Only ever buys alcohol for special things like holidays and never goes clubbing or to bars or anything.
♦ Makes a late-night meal for when Accelerator finally drags his butt home, since his sleeping habits make lunch pointless. Also nags him to take vitamins after dinner. :|
♦ If there is an argument she will never follow the other person once they leave the room. Nor will she discuss it further if they try to follow her. Basically, when it gets to the point that one is walking away, it's over and that's that. She may yell and flail a lot depending on the buttons pushed, but it takes a LOT of pushing to get her to hit. --Or pressing any of her particularly sensitive buttons, like child abuse or dead baby jokes or something.
♦ If she has occasion to talk about her first couple months in Micro, her stories will be disjointed and inconsistent. She will not show any signs of lying and will get stressed and confused if accused of it. If certain topics are mentioned she will try to change the subject without realizing she's doing it and then forget it ever came up later. Characters are very free to notice this and point it out, since it's pretty odd behavior for her, just don't expect it to really stick.
