my roommate from last year is from washington dc. so, she wants to live in her home, which is 2 blocks away from campus, next year. this presents me with a problem. who will i live with? ideally, i could live alone! however, i do not think that is possible. well, hmm....i don't really want to live with any of my female friends. so...maybe? i can live with a boy...
but how would i do that? my jesuit school is not down with boy/girl rooming situations!
i have a solution! the solution involves marriage.
i think that is a very funny solution, and i am keeping it in mind.
in the district of columbia, marriage costs $35 and takes 5 days to process.
i do not know how expensive annulment is, or how my parents will respond to this proposition. i will just have to choose which one of my male friends to relieve from an awkard rooming situation, seeing as there are so many of them living in the wrong places next year.
and imagine this conversation:
"how did you get to live with him? how strange!"
"...well, i married him!"
and this conversation:
"well, you see, peter, mommy got married at age 19 in order to live with one of her friends in the dormitory. but what about brandon, you say? well, they had already planned on being married, so she married him at age 18 in order to satisfy his desire to be her first husband. and after? well, they got married again, after mommy divorced her roommate. and what about daddy? well, he was my 5th husband, but who's counting?"
also, i don't know how i would truly feel once i was married, but it might be good fun. i am just enjoying entertaining this idea for the moment. how very funny.
