*watches peopledie fromshock*
wellas usual nothing much to report. I am beginning to find my course fascinating. I currently have a seminar with a bloke who is remus lupin, and a tutorial with someone who is the spitting image of sirius black. Needless to say I now spend all my time with them drooling over my notes and not listening to a word that is being said (btw, if anyone ever wants to do philosphy its worth it... the number of serious sirius lookalikes who teach you is enoug of an incentive in itself if the fact that it isnt fascinating doesnt work). I have to admit I do get a sad 'oh,im grown up really' kick out of discussing clubs with my tutors and calling them by their first name instead of Dr whatever. Pathetic I know but it really is fun to be taught by non-intimidating people for a change
So thats my life at the moment, the lack of studentness that I was complaining about in my last entry has worn off. By nicking stuff from every roadworks we come across, one of my best friends is currently collecting what looks like a mini construction site in his room, I have had my obligatory drunken night where I made a complete arse of myself and am very grateful that my full stupidity is overshadowed by everyone else's. I also miss home :(
So thats my life at the moment, I will get my head out of my arse soon and start doing proper updates- i realise how shittymy last ones have been, and I hope youwill forgive me as I am unable to sign all your journalsand say whatI want to,so i'll saythe most pressing things here.
Jenni> for some reason the computer wont let me onto your blog.Bugger blogger. So I hve no idea whats happening in your life atm. Letter is on its way soon I promise.
Ali> Biiiig hug
Katie> dont worry! most people dont hear for ages yet- its onlybeen a month! They dont normally make many firm decisions untill allthe oxbridge candidates had submitted. I have just checked my old ucas thing and I didnt get any offers to mid november and that was considered early among everyone else in my formitsnormal not to hear anything untill christmas time. Also you're applying for joint honours right? for some reason they take longer to process. I think youhave to remember that you're not applying to the university really- you get accepted by the department so your application is going through 2, maybe three departments (one for each subject and the school of joint honours). Also youthink Mother Tongue is interesting? You'd be in love with my course, its basically all what bill is talking about in that book. Read some david crystal if you have time although theres also a few grammar books thatyou might not like on my reading list, being the perscriptive grammarian thatyou are :). Also I might be seeing Dave Gorman in manchester too. YAAAY
Rose> In case I forget/dont have enough time to update HAPPY BIRTHDAY
