Background: Tiffany Aching is a sheep farmers daughter, which is fairly common on the chalk. She is also a witch, which is not common. Her grandmother was a fine witch, if an unknown and untrained one, and Tiffany has inherited most of her duties -- and then some, since she has had 'formal' training.

Now, she has had adventures -- at the age of nine her younger brother was taken by faeries (as was young Roland, the Baron's son, some time before) and with her Nac Mac Feedles -- brawling pictsies that were small, angry blue men in kilts - she rescued him with naught much else but her wits and a frying pan. She would lead a hiver to death, she would disrupt the seasons by entering the dance and she would set them right by kissing winter and breaking his heart. She would face the Cunning Man, who reincarnates every generation or so to hunt witches and bring the burning times.

She also does the dirty parts of work that nobody else wants to talk about. She midwifes farm animals and human babies with equal skill. She makes medicine and cheese. She takes care of the elderly, she educates, she trades, she works. She cannot take pay -- no witch can -- but she takes the hand me down sheets and clothes and works with those like few can.

She's Tiffany Aching, lovingly called hag o' the hills by the Nac Mac Feegles, who would follow her to death and back, if they could (and have).

Personality: Tiffany Aching is a common-sense girl in a world where that's pretty valuable. She is prone to dry humor, enjoys reading, rolls her eyes at those who would think less of her for her age or experience, and is sometimes frustrated that she cannot be a girl and be a witch at the same time.

Physical Description: Tiffany Aching is a lean young woman of sixteen. She eats less often then she should, works harder then most, and has mousy brown hair and brown eyes and is not exceptionally attractive at all.

Does your pup have any special powers/abilities/gifts that we should be aware of? She has the power of common sense-- which is the power she employs most often, and this is termed in First, Second Third and even Fourth Thoughts--- IE, that she thinks things through, and so forth. (In her 'canon', this gives her a 'warning' any time hse is going to be less that diplomatic/rude, though she is free to ignore the warning, and as she grows older, allows her to read the 'narration' of others-- their take on situations and such; it's not quite active mind-reading, but a passive thing that 'occurs' to her -- the things they really want to say, really think about a situation, what is REALLY on their mind when they're being dishonest, sometimes truth in lies, etc.) She has can scry some, though that's never all that clear, fly on a broom, move energies from one point to another, not be harmed by fire, take pain of all sorts from people... she has also called up the dead, walked through worlds, can possess animals if she must, and another host of magical skills.

What brings your character to the village? What does he need to learn/achieve, etc? Tiffany Aching needs to learn to let herself love and be a woman as well as a witch. She's been withcing since she was nine, to the point where girls ask if she's ever going to court, and so forth. She had her heart broken by the baron's son -- who wanted someone less complicated and intelligent -- and no one is surprised that it burned her a little. She knows she'll find that One Perosn some day-- she told herself so, in that place between time, once -- but you know, learning to get there is the hard part.

Why do you want to play this character ? She's magical, but mostly common sense. Quite frankly, the village doesn't have a lot of that. Vianne and Anouk will probably find a friend in Tiffany, and she can do a variety of tasks. She might offer her services at the Ribbon, as well as the farm -- she has a lot she can do for folks, and besides, we need some teens that aren't into drugs, sex and rock and roll.
