Oh, I Love New York

There is this show on MTV called "True Life", and this show attempts to chronical the reality of some "unique" situation. "True Life: I'm On Steriods", for example. What kind of idiot admits that they're on steriods on cable television? There was one "True Life" that focused on people who were moving to New York City. These people had no job and no plans - they just had dreams. I only saw the previews for it while my roommate was watching "Next" one night. It got me thinking, and I want to go to New York. I've wanted to go back since my plane took off from LaGuardia Airport at the end of my first trip in March 2004.

Every now and again I'll check airfare to NYC from various Michigan airports and on various departure dates. I check the Northwest Airlines website daily now. I want to be there so badly. I want to go to New York. I want to go there over Spring Break, but I don't know if my finances will allow for that, and I'm not sure about accomodations. I could ask Tammy! if I could stay with her, but I don't know if she'll be there in the spring. I could always go during school. I could leave Flint or Detroit on Friday and leave New York on Monday morning. I want to see Tiffany's. I want to take a picture of myself there just to prove that I was where Audrey Hepburn was in Breakfast at Tiffany's. You have to understand - Tiffany's is like the Mecca of Audrey Hepburn fans. I'll even save money to get myself something from the real Tiffany's - as opposed to the ones in shopping malls across the country. That's the only real goal I have in the trip besides seeing Tammy! and Heather. But mainly, I just want to be there again. It's so big and so tall.

And maybe when I graduate from college and move to the east coast for my career, I'll live close enough to visit New York whenever I want to.

travel, new york, tammy!
