Update for Thursday March 27th - Thursday April 3rd

Thursday after I'd finished the update finally I played some Crackdown, but that game has been really pissing me off lately because I think there's something wrong with the disc, which is making it freeze up at the main screen so that sucks, I might have to rent a copy from Blockbuster and switch out mine with theirs so I don't have to buy a new copy. Anyway I played some Crackdown until late at night, and then headed off to bed.

Friday I got up, went to my film theory class, which wasn't that bad, then I went to the IMU to grab a Full Trottle Blue Demon, and then went up to the radio station's lounge so I could hang out, listen to music and wait until I had to go to my sexual ethics discussion. Sexual ethics wasn't that bad, but before we got into the material our TA wanted to talk to us about our papers we'd wrote before spring break. He wanted to talk to us about them because overall it was the largest batch of low grades he's ever given. There were apparently 8 A's, 28 B's, 19 C's, and 12 D's. It was a little nerve racking because he hadn't handed out our papers to us while he was talking about this, but I was pretty happy once I got my paper to see that I had fallen into the B sections, which may just be average, but I was happy I didn't get a C or a D. The class is averaged on a curve too so that's pretty sweet. I left class, went to my dorm to hang out watching some videos online about this kid who lost his eyes to cancer when he was three, but has somehow been able to harness echolocation so he can get around. It's crazy shit...

So anyway after I watched that I went to get some lunch with Kyle & Cory, and then took a walk down to the CCL office to pick up some tapes that Deon left for me and once I got those I went straight to the info arcade in the library to digitize them. I finished up, handed everything off to Deon, and then went back to my dorm. I hung out in my room for a while, tried to play Crackdown, which didn't work, and then took a walk downtown to meet up with Tori & Bethany at the Silver Spider in the Old Capitol Mall so we could all go to The Mill because the radio station was holding it's 24th birthday there so they were having free food and stuff so we went to check that out because friends and family of djs/staff were invited. Afterwards I went back to my room, let Rush borrow my XBOX 360 because his was fucked because his roommate screwed it up somehow over break. Rush had bought Vegas 2 and Condemned 2: Bloodshot over break, and really wanted to play Vegas 2 so I let him borrow my 3-6 so he could finally play it so I could borrow Condemned later. I hung out in Rush's room with him for a while, had a little beer, played some Vegas 2 a little. Towards the end of the night I retreated to my room, and was wanting to get to go over to Dan's to hang out, but he go into a fight with Tori so he didn't really want to do anything because he was trying to patch things up. Rush gave me back my 3-6 along with Condemned so I hooked it back up again, and played some Condemned which was amazing, I got to beat some people to death with a prosthetic arm with a hook hand attatched. A couple of the guys on my floor wanted me to do them a John's Grocery favor, and I didn't really mind because I knew I could stand to make some money off of it so I agreed. We went down to John's, I picked up everything, and came out 11 dollars up so that was nice. I came back to my room, and made the executive decision to attempt to beat Resident Evil 4 as fast as I could because I finally felt dedicated enough to devote that much time to RE4 in one sitting. I played through, picked up only a couple random things, killed a shit load of cult members and bosses with my Chicago Typewriter/Infinite Launcher, and managed to run through the game in exactly 3 hours 19 minutes 17 seconds. Now I admit I did kill Ashley in the game a few times, and missed a few button spam moments so if I would have gone through without those setbacks I could easily knock off those 19 minutes and maybe could have beat it in under 3 hours. The mine ride part was what really kicked my ass because I missed the button spam moment when I was supposed to jump from the cart to safety, and so I had to go through the whole cart thing again. I finished up with RE4, and headed off to bed.

Saturday I got up late in the day, hung out in my room a little, and then went to get some lunch at Chipotle with Sahaj, Dan, Rush, and Matt. Lunch was good, and on our way there we passed by this group of black kids, which would have been normal, but when we passed by one of them answered their phone, and this is exactly how they answered their phone...
"Who the fuck this is?!?!"
I couldn't believe what I'd just heard because it was that absurd.
After lunch I came back to my room, and hung out there watching TV, hung out online, and eventually went over to Rush's room to hang out there. I was switching between hanging out in Rush's room and Damico's room because they were in a race to see who could beat RE4 first, but Rush had a little head start, plus it was his second run through so he had better weapons than Dan. They were both trying to get the typewriter so they could try to beat my time so that was fun. When I'd go into Damico's room I'd be giving him all the tips on what to do, but wouldn't help Rush because Damico really needed the advantage, I mean come on he was behind with an arsenal of weapons that hadn't been upgraded at all. It's pretty sweet because we have 3 different versions of RE4 on our floor (Gamecube/Wii/PS2). Once Dan go out of work he headed over to get me & Jarrod, and then we went to Ben's place to pick him up. We went to Dan's, smoked a little, had some PBR, played some Vegas 2 (Terrorist hunt), and thats about it. Actually no that wasn't all we did because we played a little bit of Condemned 2 also.. Dan dropped us off at our place, and then he headed off to drop off Ben at his place. I hung out in Rush's room for a little, hung out in Matt/Dan's room a little, and then went to my room to get some sleep.

Sunday I got up, worked on some spanish stuff while watching Big Daddy on HBO, but it was close to being over, and after that was WWE's The Marine starring John Cena...I watched it just to see how terrible it was.
HOLY SHIT
That movie is so absurdly terrible, I can't even begin to explain how bad it is. I cannot even imagine the kind of people that can watch that and say "Wow that movie was AMAZING". I really felt sick to my stomach after seeing it.
For those of you that haven't seen the movie, and are wondering how you'd feel after watching just look at this picture I saw on Facebook of a kid with his family in London...

That picture really almost made me vomit, hopefully it had the same effect on you, and if it does thats how watching The Marine will make you feel too.
Why does that picture make you sick?
Because those kids have to deal with their parents looking like Tourists. I hate looking like a tourist, plus fanny packs are just atrocious in general.
I hung out in my dorm, worked on some homework for my Alt. Forms class, and eventually went to Matt/Dan's room to hang out. When I got to their room I noticed that Dan was halfway through his first run through in RE4 so he could eventually get the Chicago Typewritter to try to beat my time, and Rush was hanging out in the room doing some homework. Eventually Rush, Damico, and myself went to Milio's to get some late dinner (well Rush just got a drink), and then we came back to Damico's room to eat, and then Damico went right back to going through RE. I was going to do some homework in Damico's room while he played RE4, but I ended up just watching him play, beat RE4, and then start on Seperate Ways, which was pretty sweet because I don't have the option to play that on GC so it was good to finally see it.

Monday I was woken up by an amazing thunderstorm, the first really good one of the season, and once I got up I got ready for the day, and headed off to my film theory class. The class I think went alright, but could have definitely been better. I hung out in the AJB commons area like usual, and tried to read some stuff for Alt. Forms but my eyelids became way too heavy so I just rested a little then went to class. Class was alright, but it was just more and more digitizing, which has become very tedious and boring. I stayed longer than I had to to put a few things on the external harddrive, and because of how long I was there wasn't able to get any lunch from Burge before my sexual ethics class so I hauled ass to the lecture, sat through it, and then went to my room to work on some spanish homework. I didn't do a lot for the class because there wasn't that much I had to take care of, and finished most of it on Sunday. I went to get some dinner with a few guys from my floor, and then walked over to my spanish class. The class was really boring, and afterwards I went back to my dorm, hung out there for a little and then Dan stopped by to pick me up. We went to Hy-Vee to get some hot dogs, hot dog buns, and some brat buns so we could go grill. We cooked up the Brats they had, and cooked up some hot dogs. We played some Terrorist hunt for a while because we weren't able to beat a certain one (Murdertown) on Normal. It was way too hard, but we came close to beating it quite a few times. Dan took me back to my dorm, I grabbed my laptop along with some blank cds, and then went down to the radio station to pick out my music/do my show...

I think the show went pretty well, and I was able to play some music straight from my laptop so that was cool.
I closed everything down, went back to my room, and headed off to bed around 6:30am.

Tuesday I got up late in the day, and once I got up I got all my stuff together and went to the gym. It felt really good to be there, and while I was there I was able to rock some of the cds that I'd ripped the previous night at the radio station (Aesop Rock...finally, Royksopp, and some Stereo Total). I got back from the gym, took a nice shower, and then tried to work on some homework. I was going to see if Dan wanted to hang out, but he was helping someone move stuff to North Liberty so that was his agenda for the night. I really should have done more homework, but instead I went to Rush's room to play some Vegas 2 until around 2 in the morning.

Wednesday I got up for my film theory class, and the class wasn't that bad so that as good. After class I met up with my advisor to see what I should be taking within the next two years so that I'll be able to graduate, and once I left there I headed off up the hill to "Public Space One" for my Alt. Forms class. On my way there I stopped by CVS to get some film developed.
What? You had film you needed to develope?
Yeah, over spring break I saw in my room that I had a fairly old film camera with film still in it, so I wasted the last few pictures, and decided I'd get it developed in IC because I was sure that the film inside it was really old...well at least 4 years old. I opted for the one-hour photo developing because it didn't even cost that much, and once I left there I continued on to the "Public Space One".
Nobody was there yet so I stopped into The Den to get myself something to drink, and by the time I got out people were showing up so I went inside to wait with them. We had to wait for Deon to show up to let us in to the screening space. All we did for class was get the screening space for the Iowa City International Film Festival set up, and thats about it. I left class, and went to get my pictures from CVS, and my notion that the film was old was correct because there were some old pictures in there that looked like they were from high school (junior/senior year). There was a picture of Tori without dreaded hair, and also there were a couple pictures of Jordan with his long hair. I looked at all the pictures then went to Burge to get some lunch, and then walked over to my sexual ethics lecture. The lecture went well, and I didn't doze off at all so I was happy about that. I got out of the lecture, and then went to my dorm to attempt to do some reading for my classes, but instead just wasted time online. Around 5:15 I left to go to my film theory screening for the week, and even though I got there a little late it was ok because I saw the beginning of the film we were screening in my film analysis theory class the previous semester. The movie we were screening is called Peeping Tom, and it's about a guy that kills people with his camera (well with a blade thats attatched to one of the legs of his camera's tripod) so he can film killing them, and eventually make a documentary about fear. It's pretty badass, and it was good to finally see the whole thing. Following the screening I went back to my dorm to hang out there for a while until Dan got done with dinner. Dan stopped by to get me, and Jarrod then we went back to Dan's to smoke a little, play some Vegas 2 (Terrorist Hunt), and eventually played some Halo 3 for the first time in a while. Halo was awesome, because me & Jarrod were on a team and we were kicking ass. When Jarrod and I are on a "team" we don't stick together like we probably should like Dan & Eric do, we just run around seperately like psycho's killing everyone. Tori showed up a little later, and eventually Dan dropped Jarrod & I off. On our way back Dan stopped by Hy-Vee so I could buy some pears, and get 20 dollars cash back for Jarrod so I could get a little Charlemagne from him. I got back to my room, had a pear, and thats about it.

thursday (today) I got up a little late in the day (2:30pm) and was going to go to the gym, but it was raining pretty hard so I decided not to go because I really didn't feel like walking through the rain.
Well why didn't you run.
I didn't feel like running to the gym either.
Anyway I gathered up some stuff, and headed off to the House of Aromas to do this and to work on some stuff for my spanish class. I'm done with the update now...finally a time where I've been able to finish this update in one sitting, that hasn't happened in a while, but oh well.
Alright well I'm off to my spanish class, and later I don't know what I'm doing, but it will probably involve some gaming.

Vast is the gap between us now...
