And now for the fuzzies

*quiet facepalm*

So Israelis are sitting at home, all depressed because there's a war on. Who can work like that? Nobody, that's who. Fine, let's cook. Actually, let's do better than that: let's cook for soldiers. We can cook a lot more, and we feed the soldiers too! C'mon, pack that truck full of cake, let's go.

Next thing anyone knows, there's a huge-ass field kitchen set outside Gaza cranking out shawarma in baguette with freshly-made salads by the hundreds with a selection of sodas and a terrifying amount of cakes on the side plus a candy-box with kiddie drawings to go with that, and company Admin officers are showing up to place orders, and the more-senior officers are going "Y'all know we're not starving the kids, right?"

(All grocery shopping is being done in the South, to support local businesses.)

In response, people raise 4000$ and go to buy socks and underwear, so that when soldiers get out of the Strip for all of two hours they get a fresh pair of each and don't need to do laundry.

Edit. Apparently people are also putting doggie treats and appropriate blankets in the care packages, for the K9 units.
