What the?
This hasn't shown up in English yet - it just showed up in Hebrew.
There are two proposed laws that passed legal examination on their way to being voted upon. One is to forbid people who have not done national service (either military or social) from serving as judges in the High Court (this is primarily Arabs and Haredi); the other is to forbid Settlers from the same.
Both bills were also phrased very carefully so that they are not technically racist, and so the Knesset's presidency can't reject them on the basis of the local equivalent of nonconstitutional.
On the one hand, apparently everybody are being equally horrible to everybody else and the law is equally blind. On the other, what just happened?
