Also, yesterday's tea

Sep 27, 2010 19:12

And because I ought to be organized about those things, yesterday's teapot was of some 500-700ml and had, in descending order, spearmint, verbena, lavender and chopped dry ginger. The spearmint and verbena were in my standard "large" quantity (5-7 large leaves), about 2tsp of lavender and 1-2tsp of ginger.

The taste was surprisingly mild - ginger and lavender tend to be dominant, but the base smoothed them well, no bitterness of sting. In terms of effect, it about 30min to settle in, with the peak of the lavender's influence lasting about an hour and then slowly dissipating.

The ginger works better to cushion the lavender than what I tried so far - at least in terms of absorption. The peak effect was not diminished at all. I still don't consider this perfected, but it's a good beginning point.
