Supermarket round

Mar 01, 2010 19:38

I think I have a regular cashier again. I used to have a preferred one, but then she got promoted to Central Cashier and stopped doing line. Now there's this woman about twenty-thirty years younger than the others, obviously another Russian (the vast majority of supermarket employees seem to be first- or second-gen Russian immigrants), and she's definitely in the upper cut in terms of efficiency and she's nice. So if she's on shift, i'm picking her queue.

Also, fastest supermarket time in the history of ever. I think I clocked it well under twenty minutes - I didn't dawdle by the shelves and there was zero queue at the cashier. Is nice.

And there were schnitzles. Thank goodness. The woman there decided to make it three ~700gr plates instead of four supposedly 500gr ones, which never works. I think i'll just ask for three plates from now on.

My fridge is packed but somehow i'm sure i'll end up at the supermarket again next week. It always happens.

The kitchen isn't even too much of a disaster zone. I'm not entirely sure how.

Yesterday I already noted that Bones's underlying theme seem to be identity between self and society. Two more notes:
- Post 1.13: oh, so that's what's going there. This show is nearly a 1:1 projection of some of my teenaged fantasy worlds. And it's taken me this long to catch up why?
- What is it with every single character on this show being so damn vulnerable and sensitive? I mean, Booth and Hodgins are supposed to be the thick-skinned ones, and they're ridiculously fucking sensitive. I'm not even talking about Zack. (Angela and Brennan herself are the mid-range, because Angela is supposed to be sensitive and the half the damn show is based on Brennan being a lot more vulnerable than she's willing to admit.) For some reason i'm terrified for Zack in nearly every scene he's on.
