Now that Ed has some spare time, he's heading off to do something that he really should have done much sooner. That being reporting in to Shader about being hungry. Right now, he's hoping that she doesn't hit him too much for being stupid.
At any rate, he's picked a time when he hopes he's not interrupting anything like their own mealtime to approach the house.
