Gaming? HAH!

Isn't it ironic that even though I've been in the video game industry for nearly a year and a half, my interest for gaming itself has nearly dwindled to nothing? Sure, I bought a couple games here and there the past year (Mega Man 9, FFTA2, WotLK), but haven't committed to them as much as I used to. Hell, I've even contemplated getting an Xbox 360 to play games with friends (especially co-workers), but I just realized that I have little to no interest in what's out there! Even I've got back into WoW hibernation - once the dust has settled, it's been the same WoW I knew for the PAST FOUR YEARS!

I just can't stay committed to games anymore, especially those that require a lot of my time. Quick games (like any Bemani or fighting game) are the ones that are getting the most action from me as of late. Hell, I just played Street Fighter 4 for the first time yesterday at work, and I had a good winning streak (5 wins or so). Since, you know, it plays like any other Street Fighter game I've ever played. Or yet, any Capcom fighter I've ever played. I have no interest in getting better at this game, since I know the basics from the years when I was a hardcore gamer, and when I was into these kinds of games! Not much has really changed!

To be fair, though, I still enjoy the community. Going to events like E3, AX, and maybe Blizzcon this year (assuming that the way they process tickets this year won't be as assy as the previous year) is something I enjoy, since I get to hang out with those that are a part of it. I try to keep up with the news and stuff with gaming, but as far as actually engaging in it, that's sketchy at best. Nowadays, I just write (again, blatantly plugging my memoirs), exercise, and hang out with friends on weekends.

Maybe it is for the best. It's certainly a far cry from what I used to do during my free time.
