Music.

Its a beautiful thing, alot of people really claim to live by their music and such. No bullshitting, hiphop is my music. My mom is from Canada and she is a vegan that does tarot cards and preaches kharma, she always had thoes tapes with sounds of a waterfall ect. Pops is an old school NYC kid, he never listens to music, he usually is reading or working on something was cutting cupons. The first tape I was ever given was on Christmas and it was Break Dancing 2 The Electric Boogaloo. This tape wasn't much of a rap style tape, but more about the beats. If you want to brain wash your child this is the cd to do it.The breaks in this cd are bananas. I think my life-long goal was completed when I got my turntables. Just like that rock song or dance track has that one break that can make everyone go crazy on the dance floor, hiphop is nothing but that break looped over with an extra beat cut ontop. Thats just the beat. Over the beat you have the emcee who can control the crowd once the dj gets them entranced. Originally just for your information the emcee wasn't in the picture unless the DJ wantedh im to. Thats part of where music went wrong when people started to focus on the emcee and the dj because a prop, up to now where nobody has a dj in the mainstream media anymore. I will never get over that part, but like Bambata said, some people listen to the music and follow the words, the breaks, and the scratches in each song and go on a ride with each track, while some just follow the emcee and are impressed soley on his presence (which is lame). This is also a problem when it comes to listening to hiphop, people dont know the difference between one another and assume that Im following Mtv and 98.7 to see whats hot. hats by far the truth. Back to the emcee before I went off on a tangent. An emcee adds his own style to each song and the way he uses his words to paint the picture. No other music will have such beautiful lyrics, smothered in rhymes, similies, and metaphors. Hiphop really helped me to grow to appreceate the beat and breaks to all music. I wont get into scratching on this post. Ever since I heard Grandmaster DST and Herbie Handcock do that track together I was hooked, but thats a whole different post. A rap song without a dj is like a boat without an ocean. I get upset when I hear someone rapping with nothing besides a little beat behind them. A good dj though can make a good song ten times better. Cutting up the track and sometimes outshining the rappers if they dont put an end to it. Every new cd I get is like having my own holiday.

This is what posting on LJ is about.

Talkin about shit that nobody cares about, but damn its good I got to get that off my chest. Down side of it all truth be told is I would have to move to someplace more suburban like NY to find a girl that can relate. Every chick I meet listens to 98.7 but thats about it for hiphop, and then you put on some real shit and they act like your trying to get them to learn how to line dance and just want to turn the radio on.

Nobody has a love for hiphop anymore, its just "cool". Maybe thats why I relate to rockers better than most kids that listen to rap.

PS> Dont try the vanilla toothpaste. I just wanted to drink a White Chocolate Mocha while I brushed my teeth.
