O! "The Sealed Nectar" later on mentions how Abu Bakr (R) acquired his epithet of "As-Siddiq"- i will definitely share this while we're on the topic :) Some background: Once (roughly during the 12th year of his (S) mission) when the Prophet (S) was sitting at the Kaabah, Angel Gebriel (A) came to him with a horse (al-Buraq) whom he (S) was told to mount. On al-Buraq they traveled from Mekkah to Jerusalem (al-Isra')- specifically to the site of Masjid Al-Aqsa where he led the prophets of old in prayer. They then ascended to and through the seven heavens (Al-Mi'raj) where he (S) met a prophet at each level and where he (S) was given the obligatory prayers for him and his ummah by Allah SWT. When the Prophet (S) told his people afterwards of his Night Journey (al-Isra' wal Mi'raj), and described to them exactly the route and what was there, many (of the polytheists) found it extremely hard to believe and called him (S) mad and ridiculed him. The believers, however, never doubted the Prophet (S):

For the true Muslims, however there was nothing unusual about the Night Journey. The All-Mighty Allah, Who is Powerful enough to have created the heavens and the earth by an act of His Will, is surely Powerful enough to take His Messenger beyond the heavens and show him those signs of His at firsthand which are inaccessible to man otherewise. The disbelievers on their part went to Abu Bakr on account of this event, and he readily said: "Yes, I do verify it." It is on this occasion that he earned the title of As-Siddiq (the verifier of truth).

I love this book, masha'Allah! It is fast paced and sticks to just the facts and events themselves, instead of teling it all like a long-winded story. What I like most is how it goes into the revealation of ayahs- that helps me understand its purpose a lot more, given its context and historical background. Alhamdulillah :)
