Strange in fact, but true on teevee

I'm shamefully addicted to the TV show Pretty Little Liars. A convoluted conspiracy which makes the Syndicate in The X-Files look like so many bunglers. Its purpose? To make life hell for four high school girls. It's almost all-powerful, and anybody can 'get got', yet it's also petty and vindictive.

It's got the cheap charm of a never-ending soap, and the breathless cliff-hangers of an old-time serial. I think that I'm lost.
