High points of the weekend
Friday: Met up with my slightly inebriated brother. He had been to an semi-local brewery's anniversary, where beer and food (like sausages made with beer!) had been pretty much free. The crowd had mostly been student workers from abroad and ageing hippies. There had been accordion music and much merriment. Folksy in the best sense of the word.
There are few things in this world I enjoy more than having a natter with my brother over a(nother) beer.
Saturday: My dad came over, and we had a lovely dinner (Easter-themed). Then a drive to the countryside, which included a leisurely stroll, coffee and apple trifle, and climbing something called Ellen's Mountain. I suspect that if this small hillock had been situated in most other nations, no one would've deigned to name it. Here it is a mountain.
Dinner was Indian, and I had a scrumptious chicken korma.
Yes, food is a big part of my family's get-togthers.
Sunday: A walk in the sun, followed by going out in the countryside, where Sand and others had been huffing glue all weekend. Or assembling Warhammer minis and playing with them. They're great people, and I had loads of fun, even if I'm not a part of the hobby.
I was witness to an Ork - Blood Angel battle. The future is green and has poor diction. However the FURIOSO dreadnought made a really good account of itself (think of it as a killer robot with the ghost of a mad samurai or knight templar at the helm).
