I just bought my tickets to Europe! EEEEEE! And also *ouch*, 'cause damn, expensive. But EEEEEEE! *bites fingers*. I'm first going to my sister's for a few days (and that's really what's making an already expensive trip more expensive, but whatchagonnado?) and then taking a train to Prague. Train tickets are yet to be purchased, but I got time for that. I like trains.
EEEEEE!

In other news, I finally got around to watching Apartment Zero last night.
Yowsa! Okay, was totally expecting to be ooked out by the movie, given every person's reaction when talking about it, so I was expecting a fair amount of ookiness and I was not disappointed. It was strange to see my handsome and gorgeous Colin Firth acting like such a sniveling mama's boy, but he did a great job with it. And he was a cute sniveling mama's boy, so couldn't complain, really *g*. Hart Bochner, on the other hand, was such a surprise. I was overjoyed to learn he was the smarmy business guy in Die Hard who got killed. Excellent!
I went to a weird Wiseguy place with this film because a)Hart Bochner looks kinda like Vinnie and b) his character, Jack, could easily be Roger's cousin, or someone Roger knew, or even Roger himself if Roger were even crazier than he is already. I mean, they're like mirrors of each other, kinda. Fascinating.
It totally reminded me of Polanski's The Tenant, like, a lot. Same camera moves, same wacky neighbors, same set up for the reveals. I loved the Faulknerian "A Rose for Emily" touch at the end - totally ooky! And gross! And just... man, fucked up! *g*
I loved the little twists, and all the reveals. I loved Adrain and Jack's totally screwy relationship - that was great -- it was oddly sweet and even if I kept expecting them to have sex, it's almost better that they didn't. I loved the predator-like qualities that Jack had, and how he was equally the predator with *everyone*. I did not particularly find either of them sympathetic, though, which I would have liked. That might be my one complaint. I don't mind them being sociopaths and killers and what have you, but I'd like to like them, and I found them both a tad unsympathetic. Although, I did kinda find Jack Carney attractive, which makes me think I need to see a psychiatrist. *g*
