I have an LJ superpower and that superpower is the ability to be completely oblivious to about 85% of whatever given drama happens to be occurring. It's a nice power, good power, but when I finally take notice of something I'm always "wah?". heh ( Read more... )

Wonderful theory. I'm a little sorry to see "One for the Road" as an example, though.

Ah see, your comment pretty much proves what rache is saying. *g*

I personally find it a relief to know others don't think the Methos in "One for the Road" is their Methos. He isn't my Methos. He falls out of my three point characterization, if you will.

However, I think Kat's September Song is one of the best stories in HL and one that's perfectly in character (for me! *g*). And I can see how she can go from this Methos in September Song and get to the Methos in One for the Road.

Tricksy wonderful characterizations.

September Song is completely in character for me, which is one of the reasons I like it. There really are a lot of stories that are popular favorites in HL that fall outside of my versions of the characters; it's just the way things are.

Never mind. I get into too much trouble when I post opinions.

Oh, hon. It's okay. Really. I read what you wrote and it made me think why it is that I find the Methos in that story so difficult to swallow. Most of it comes from how close I am to Duncan, I'm sure.

Anyway, please don't supress your opinion. At least, you're free to your opinion in my journal. And you're right. It is very pesonal.
