There were always a few, the many things he could not change. He’d learned to live with the consequences of his actions. But she wasn’t asking about the big picture or those unalterable moments that were solidified in their past. She was asking about right here, right now. “No,” he said. “What about you?”
She turned to admire the ocean. “How can I regret anything with a view like this?” she asked.

omg can you believe i finished this thing?! The final word count according to AO3 is almost 150K words say what. horrifying lol. I started writing it er.... maybe in may or june last year, so almost a full year writing this thing. I had no idea what I was getting myself into. When I started out I thought it would be like maybe 30k or something hahahahaha.
I say in the notes, if this story has an endgame it's Steve & Natasha (or Steve/Natasha depending on how you look at it) and the fact that in another timeline it would have coincided with the release of Black Widow would have been really cool. sigh. The world has been very difficult and strange lately.
