this and that. mostly that.
what had happened was...
~ Highlander story of doom midway through beta. whee! My boys. They are mighty fine and dandy.
~ I muscled my way through all of Ashes to Ashes series 2. I kind of loved it. Except, I found it really stressful. I dunno, Leverage is about the level of stress I seem to want to handle at the moment and although I can't always take A2A seriously, as the series progressed it got really intricate, wot with Alex having to hide the murder of that younger version of the bad guy and Chris's betrayal and then there was the Gene/Alex break-up fight which I had a hard time with. I love their level of UST and their friendship; it's rather set at the perfect pitch and then it was all wrong and Gene was angry and she looked crazy. I hate how the show makes Alex seem crazy because she keeps talking to people about how she's leaving and making references to things she shouldn't. I know a lot of it is because she believes all of it is just a construct she's created in her head, but that doesn't make it easier to watch. But, I kind of love her a lot and want her to get home to her kid and think she's sort of awesome and she's one of my favorite female characters of all time. Also, Sam Tyler references FTW! And Sam and Annie were married and happy! Which, narratively speaking I understand why Sam had to die, but within the context of the world it really really sucks. :( bah. But, as much as I loved LoM, if think A2A is actually a better written show. oh well. This is all to say that I rather ridiculously love Gene Hunt in the same way I love Roger Lococco. Love them, think they're kind of crazy hot, don't want to have anything to do with them, ever. He's a great character and fascinating and if the bad guys were breaking down my door, I'd want him there to beat the crap out of them.
~ Best friend and roomie S has left me for two weeks on an Eastern European Vacation. I'm so jealous! I wish I could have gone with her. She's visiting countries I've already been to, so I couldn't really justify it. Besides which, I'm broke. bah.
~ I finished watching all of Star Trek: The Next Generation. Sadness! I waited a long time to watch the final two episodes because I didn't want it to end. :( I've started DS9 and I'm looking forward to finally getting to watch it properly, and to get to the parts when it starts to get interesting.
~ I keep almost screwing up at work. yoinks. Oh well. At least I catch my mistakes.
~ I got back on a pony this weekend after taking the last week off due to bruised hand. So, that's good. Still trying to figure out what I want from all this.
~ Leverage is my happy place. I started watching season 1 again. *facepalm* This could potentially be a problem. lol. eh, it's like candy popcorn, and I'm licking the bowl. I'm reading fanfic and find most of it already full of character tropes but I'm still reading (when I can. stupid work) because I'm hoping for a few diamonds in the rough. When do episodes come back?
~ Speaking of candy popcorn, for the love of mike, when is the next Doctor Who special airing??
~ And, because it can never be said enough, Duncan+Methos=WIN
