They're not just shopping for three teenagers, are they? Because by the looks of it, they could feed a family of five for a couple of days.]

[Suddenly there is a lovely (large, wolf-like) dog at the trio's side, eying the bags hopefully.]

[She recognizes this dog: the one she encountered in the park when Diva had arrived. It had been a short meeting, but the dog had been something of a comfort. Now...well, now Saya's not human anymore. It had been short and sweet, but that was over. But even knowing animals are frightened of her, she smiles at this one.]

[For a moment, Ammy's wolf instincts kick in. She draws back her mouth to growl--

--and then it occurs to her that while something about the smell of Saya bothers the body she's in, she doesn't sense anything spiritually bad about her. Mind you, maybe she wouldn't anyway, in this place, but...just because the girl smells funny is no reason not to accept her as one of her children. Especially since it probably scares away other animals, and that...that must make for a lonely existence.

Ammy barks in greeting and pants in a doggy smile.]

[Well that's different. She's not growling and backing away. Unfortunately, Saya's knowledge of how to interact with animals...yeah, it pretty much ends there. But oh, this one liked being petted before, didn't it? Saya hesitantly holds out her hand, but doesn't make contact with the dog's head.]

Long time, no see.

[With the sun goddess Amaterasu, petting is a privilege to be granted to humans. Ammy eyes Saya critically for a moment, determining whether she's still worthy of the privilege.

Saya passes. Ammy lifts her head for the pettings.]

[Saya hesitantly runs her hand down Amaterasu's nose. Are all animals this soft?]

[Amaterasu considers for a moment. She gets the feeling...that Saya's never had a dog lick her before. Well, normally she wouldn't go around licking random people--that's another privilege they have to earn, thank you--but this child of hers just seems so hesitant and lonely.

Ammy slurps at Saya's hand. Hello!]

[It's wet! Well of course it's wet, it's a tongue. But it gets a giggle out of her.]

H-hey, that tickles.

[mothersandsuns]

[Ammy pauses to nose some more at Saya's hand, wondering just where that strange scent that raises her hackles comes from. Then she puts the matter aside for now--she'll investigate later--and lifts her head to give Saya a doggy smile. You're safe with her, even if you give off weird vibes!]

( although surprised by the size of the dog at first, kai relaxes once he sees saya's reaction and smiles a little as he adjusts the bags in his hands. )

Hi there, friend of my sisters'?

[Ammy inspects Kai critically, trying to determine whether he's good enough for Saya. After a moment, she relaxes. He's another of her kids too, right? He can't be bad. She offers a friendly pant.]

( kai grins, adjusting his grip on some of the bags in order to reach out and try to offer a friendly pat on the head. )

[Riku's never seen a dog this big before. Saya and Kai seem okay with it, so he isn't worried in the slightest.]

Hi, doggy. Do you want a treat?

[She always wants a treat. Ammy parks herself before Riku and lolls her tongue out hopefully.]

[Riku sets down the bag he's carrying in order to rummage through it properly. Let's just pretend they have meat in there that's easy to tear pieces off of.]
