Recently, I discovered the hard way why you don't chew gum with braces; it's not because the gum will get caught in the braces, but because your braces will cut your inner mouth while you are constantly chewing. Needless to say, eating has become a painful experience for me. So painful, I have decided to go on a liquid diet until my mouth sores heal. So, I begin every morning with a Jamba Juice for breakfast. After doing nutritional and taste research, I have settled on the "Bright Eyed and Blueberry" with the Protein Boost and the Performance Boost. This gives me a substantial amount of protein with a minimum of calories to start my day. I then have a lunch of "Boost" Protein liquid and a serving of Campbell's Tomato soup. Dinner is similar to lunch, with "Boost" and Tomato soup usually followed up with a milkshake for dessert. Of course, I use a straw to ingest all of these foods, since opening my mouth is too painful. Surprisingly, I have only lost 2-3 pounds, and my strength is about the same or even stronger when I work out. Maybe this liquid diet is healthier than my actual diet of real food?
