Obediently, Ensign Chekov taps out a few comments - the screen zooms onto the day's target, the pieces and various parts of a standard ship's three-dimensional chess set floating in a tight cluster.
Both eyebrows go up. Just a bit.
"I see."
Pavel's expression remains bright and cheerful as he awaits the order.
"Please resume the targeting sequence."
Spock does not sound pleased. Not even a smidgen.
Kirk, abnormally quiet in his captain's chair, allows himself a slightly smugger expression than usual.
