So I did a thing today

I bought a bike probably three weeks ago, it's an old, late 1980s aluminum frame, but has fancy stuff like top of the line (Ultegra) components, fancy name brand wheels, carbon fiber fork + carbon fiber seatpost + carbon fiber handlebars. Kevlar seat and some other stuff I'm probably not even aware of. I had to buy a bike pump that could pump up to 120psi to inflate my tires properly (my old one only went to 70... new). Between the helmet, airpump, water bottle and replacement tubes, I think I've spent as much on accessories for the bike as I have on the bike itself ($150).

Things are moving along nicely for this job (knock on wood) and if I get it, I could coast downhill to work (it's about 150ft vertical drop over 2.5 miles), then after work hop on the dart rail (stops right outside my building), get out at mockingbird station and coast downhill to the house (it's about 80 vertical ft drop over 2 miles). Just coast to and from work. Apparently some of the guys I would be working with also ride their bikes to work.
