Got PotC3 yesterday, and now I have "Hoist the Colors" playing in my head. I've been a pirate geek for many, MANY years now-- like, let's see, 24?-- and it's amazing, surreal, a bit creepy, and ultimately pretty cool to see how hip pirates have become. Again. :) And watching it again last night, I was again so emotionally struck by the scene at the end where, after the Dutchman rises again, the crew members shuffle along the deck as their fishy bits fall away to reveal the men beneath...that moment is iconic for me, in some way symbolizing the true freedoms that piracy represented for so many of the men who plied it. It is beautiful.
