Oh poor Abby... it'd be just like Vance to want to get rid of her, though at the same time I *kinda* see where he's coming from.

It would be illegal for Vance to require Abby to "retire" for being HIV pos - His concern about vulnerability to infection is true, but the labwork she does has to be done in sterile- non-contaminated procedures... she is probably safer working in her lab than she would be at the grocery store! When a person's Tcell count drops to the point of having AIDS, then the limitation becomes their own energy to do the work.
That said, I was ready to wring Vance's neck!
