My birthday

Dec 19, 2006 11:30

My two day birthday celebration was good. It started with dinner at Green Tea in Flowery Branch with my family, Augie, and Ruth's new guy. Augie and I shared a plate full of sushi and it was yum. I wore a new dress that Mom bought for me and some new shoes (my first pair of real high heels... about time don't ya think?).

We made a stop for coffee on the way home for presents and cake. My favorite new toy would have to be my iPod (and a radio transmittier for the car) but I also got a bathroom scale (which I asked for), a book, and some pink Tifosi sunglasses for riding my bike and running.

I spent the morning of my birthday shopping for Christmas presents with my mom. The afternoon was a visit from Daniel and Patrick.

The evening was supposed to be another nice, dress up dinner with Augie in Athens but I wasn't feeling the dressing up part so we just went in jeans to our favorite everyday restaurant, The Grit. Good dinner finished off by a piece of delicious cake from their dessert selection that we have a really hard time passing up everytime we go there.

Augie got me two books that were incredibly thoughtful considering I told him I didn't want him to get me anything for my birthday. One is a knitting book I have been lusting after ever since I have been a knitting fool for the past month.

and the other is a book on wabi sabi which is a japanese concept that I talked to Augie about long before we started dating.

He always makes his presents so pretty with paper from specialty shops and handwritten notes.

I've been reading the knitting book nonstop and I'm going to order some supplies from online soon.

Anyway... Here I am again on another day off. I don't really want to work on Christmas present projects, I just want to read and nap. So I think I will.
