♕ |[8]| Nobody knew where I was and now I am no longer there

riverrun, she said. I don't know what it means, but I don't want to forget it. Maybe I ought to worry more about why, about what it means to be here-- what the cost might be-- but it's hard to care, knowing where I might be otherwise. What I might be... It's bad enough, being reminded by the stillness... but... I'll take that, over being a ( Read more... )

We still don't have a Titania?

I don't recall anyone agreeing to do it, no... certainly that's the biggest of the roles we've got left, and the one I'm most worried about.

Goodness, yes, we can't exactly go on without a Titania, can we...

Mm. Well, I'll see if I can't think of something, and do a little asking around myself, as well.

Yeah... some of the others we could double up, or maybe write out if we had to... You could probably do without Philostrate? But Titania is... a big deal.

Blue said he'd ask some people, too... I'm sure we'll figure it out. Somehow.

Don't worry. We've still got some time before the play, and I'm sure we'll manage to come up with something.

Oh, and I can practice whenever's convenient for everyone else, really. It's not much trouble at all to move my schedule around.

I'm concerned, but I'm not panicked. I have a good feeling that it'll all work out in the end.

Sounds good, Rosella. Oh, and we have to find time to dance, too!

Oh, that's right, we do! Mm, let's see...how about sometime this week, preferably on a day free of curses?

That works for me!

All right, let's do that, then. I'm looking forward to it already.

...Though, er, if you don't mind my asking, I'm rather curious--what's a typewriter?

Oh! It's something you write with-- it's a little like the keyboard on the computer? But it isn't as complicated. It prints the letters right onto the paper, inside the machine, instead of needing another machine to print what you wrote on the screen...

It's hard to describe, if you've never seen one. I hope that makes sense.

Oh...no, all right, I think I know what you mean. How odd. Or even if I don't, I have a better idea of what you're after, now, anyway...

My device doesn't work that way, though. Mine has a little pen, so I can write with it.

If I find one, I'll show you. It's... as close as we had to what they have here? It's not that different typing on this, but I would prefer a typewriter if I could, you know?

...huh. Well, that's convenient, since I imagine it would have been confusing if the City expected you to learn how to type right away...

Oh, of course. It's only natural to want something you're used to, if you can help it.

Mmhmm! It's the same sort of thing as with your typewriter, I think. It's not quite the same as writing with ink, of course, but it's rather a lot like it.

Yeah. I wouldn't be able to use it on the Network, of course, but for writing in general...

Are you going to use it to write poetry, like Todd?

I--

Well, we'll see. I'm not as good as he is, though.
