TODD'S HERE!

Everyone, Todd is my best friend from home-- we were roommates this year, at school-- and you should get to know him because he's great. He's just a little shy.

Uh, Morgana-- thank you for letting me stay with you, but since it's a little too crowded to bring more people in, Todd and I are going to get our own place. It's been ( Read more... )

Yes! Robin offered, and I love the idea. You never know, it could be useful for stage-fighting. I've had a little, but I wasn't on the team at school.

Well, I'm glad you're so enthusiastic about it. It can be a useful skill to have, I think.

And speaking of things to be enthusiastic about, I believe I have a plate of cookies here that are meant for you.

I think so, too-- I don't know that it'd help much with real fighting, but I don't expect to need to do any. And it's good exercise, I'm sure.

Oh, right! If you're still willing to come by I'll introduce you to Todd.

I very much hope you won't have to do any, either. But it never hurts to be prepared, I suppose.

I certainly am! But, er, I think I'd better ask first--he's not afraid of horses, is he?

That's a good point, all manner of insane things happen here on a regular basis... well.

He isn't as far as I know. I doubt it, really. You've a horse?

It is a good point, isn't it? And a helpful tip, as well! You're a very sharp boy, Neil.

I do, and I'll be riding him over, if it's all right with you and Todd. I know some people don't take well to horses, though, so I thought I ought to make sure you didn't mind, first.

And practicing swordplay would certainly keep my days from being dull.

No, not at all! Just a little unexpected, though really, nothing should be, at this point. People don't ride that much where I'm from.

Ah, and punny, too, I see.

It seems that quite a few worlds are that way, really. Where I'm from, most everyone knows how to ride. But of course, we don't have cars like many people seem to, so that's to be expected.

I'm good at taking cues.

Oh-- where is it you're from? We've got cars where I lived... though there are surprisingly few of them here, I've noticed.

A useful talent, for an actor!

I'm from a kingdom called Daventry, which most people have never heard of, so don't fret if you haven't, either. Do you like cars? There are a few here at the Warehouse, but they're Sam's, and I hardly know a thing about them.

I do what I can.

You're right, I haven't heard of it. I like cars well enough, though I didn't have one of my own or anything. We weren't really well-off enough for that.

It's a very nice kingdom or, well, it was, anyway, all green countryside and blue lakes and forests with plenty of trees for climbing. And plenty of interesting people, too!

Oh...I'm sorry to hear that.

That sounds lovely, Rosella.

It's all right, it's not like I really needed one. Would have been nice but... not necessary.

It was. But, of course, it's where my family is, and that's really the loveliest part of all.

Well, I'm afraid I don't have one to offer you, but if you'd like a ride on Valor, I'd be happy to take you sometime.

Home is where the heart is, as they say.

Oh, I'd love it!
