I don't know what's coming, or really what to expect, but I think everyone's right in what they've said-- that it's better to try and be prepared, even if you end up not needing to be, than not

I know it's silly, and it might be nothing at all, but whenever there's trouble, I always make one. And it doesn't hurt anything, having it--I've wrapped it all up for you, and you can eat it yourselves if it turns out you don't need it. I just think...it's always better to be safe than sorry, that's all.

And as dangers go, he's--he can be--one of the nicer ones. He came when we had the plagues, too, and everyone keeps saying this is a story from the same place. I don't know if that means they're connected somehow, but...well, I made enough, and it's only cake.

I know it can seem as though there are connections in everything, and a great deal of it is just superstition since it's almost October, but...well. It's the right time of year for it and it seems like the right sort of circumstances, and I'd rather know that you and Todd have one on hand, just in case.

You're right; it's easy to forget sometimes about all the beings here who we don't hear from as often as we do the Deities, but some of them do seem to keep coming back...

I think about them sometimes. Adrastus and his little shady corner of the Square that he liked so much. His mother, saying she'd paid the price so that even the dead could be alive again here. And I've heard that there were two other animals, once, along with Adrastus--a cat, I think, and a harpy.

In a way, I do, too. And Adrastus himself, in a sense. He...knows my name. And he's thanked me for the cake before, when I told him I'd made it for him and asked him to leave my friends alone.
It was years and years ago--before I got here, even. Cain remembers it, though. Three of them, and something about the clock stopping for good.

Oh... That's for Adrastus, isn't it? I remember you spoke about it last time...

I don't know anything about the other animals-- this is the first I've heard of it. I wonder why they haven't come back the way he does...
