Some greater power apparently thought that since I was feeling like crap today, I should meet new people to make up for it. This obviously was a flawed plan since I looked/look like I feel, but nevertheless I met a cool girl named Heather in the next dorm over whos a mechanical engineer and in one of my classes. She's friends with a bunch of guys on my floor, and was actually the one who pierced Keaton's ears. We complained about being up at 7:30 all the way over to breakfast (because the conveniently located dining hall is closed, so I must walk all the way across campus) and then shared anecdotes about the weird math teachers we've come across.
If we were competing, I won.
Swing club is probably the highlight of my week, no joke. I love watching Joey and Jamie dancing together. Jamie is Joey's boyfriend, and is insanely strong. He picked up one of the other guys by the hips and set him on his shoulders without breaking a sweat. He did throw Joey a little high, as she kindof bounced off the ceiling.
Even though we haven't learned anything other than new dips, just dancing with a bunch of people is very, very fun. The guys currently outnumber the girls, something unheard of in John Wozencraft's classes. We also have fixed partners currently, and my partner Bree is getting quite good. I've exausted about all I know of swing to teach her, so it's mostly just practice.
I'm still mostly dependant on Leah's/Nick's friends, but I'm slowly working away from that. I spent a while last night playing Super Smash Bros. with Omar and Jurden (Black-Thunder), and playing with them is almost like a real sport in the level of energy involved. I really wish I could take/post videos of Jurden, he defies description, here goes. He's maybe 5'4ish with 4+ inches of messy afro perched atop his head, and he weighs about 300 lbs. every time he wins a game he runs out of the room yelling "OH YEAHH" with both index fingers raised in the "I win!" style from Arthur. He's surprisingly agile, and even more quickwitted. Jurden tried to join into the conversation behind him, but when teasingly rebuked he pointed his nose in the air and sniffed "its because I'm black, I know". Omar has ditched his pink slippers and now wears a straw hat.
The best part of my Technical Writing class today was the person chainsawing a tree down right outside the window. Pathetic, maybe?
I'm surprisingly anti-social these days, but I think thats mostly due to my diseased state and my homework level, and I'm working away from that. I really want to borrow Leah's camera and get pictures up here, if I can manage that. The pictures will definately involve the Aliens my physics teacher draws.
Ok, off to shove down food before physics lab. I don't find this entry paticularly interesting, but I'm posting anyways.
