Spent Saturday and Sunday working on the deck of the back stairs with Nic.
doG, I am tired. And sore. I work out on a more or less regular basis, but this was different. Straddling joists while nailing things is hard.
My knees are bruised like crazy because the kneepads, brought on Saturday, didn't get used until Sunday, and my thigh muscles feel as though I haven't run in a year....or have been riding a horse, or something.
Nic seemed to feel about as worn out as I did. This over-forty body-getting-worn-out-easily thing can stop right now; I want my twenty-year-old body with my forty-something brain. Not gonna happen, but I can want it - this wouldn't have hurt then.
Still, back porch and stairs, yay!
But next time, I'm going to be a whole lot more careful - first, do some more strength training and second, be careful about body positioning and just slamming my weight around. 400mg of Advil should not be my closest friend at the moment.
