It's official: I'm sick.
Just what I need, something to add to the SUCK that is my Instructional Strategies class (and boy howdy, were there EPIC levels of TEH SUCK tonight). The only saving grace is that it ends this weekend.
...she made us read fucking PowerPoint slides again today. God this woman is useless. I swear, I'll take a raging bitch

As you said, at least that class ends this weekend. Back in the day when I took classroom methods classes, there was no power point, but I did have one instructor that I would have had a little private talk with had I been as assertive as I am now in my old age (rather than the shrinking violet that I was when I was in my early twenties).
She was supposed to teach us the best ways to teach mathematics to elementary students. Instead, she wasted our time trying to teach some of the older, i.e. 40 something students, how to add, substract and divide fractions.
In my opinion, even back then, she was wasting my time by not teaching me how to teach (I already knew how to do 5th grade math). She should have told those students who could not do basic math (and they had been admitted to our state's top public university...how they got in with the lack of math skills was beyond me) to go take a remedial class in math, cause they sure shouldn't be teaching it, if they couldn't do it.
Over 30 years later this still bugs me. I just wish I had the same assertiveness then, that I have now, because now I would never let something like that get by unchallenged. The least she could have done (which she didn't) was to pretend that those that couldn't do fractions were a 5th grade class and use them to demonstrate how those skills could be taught.
Sorry to rant, but your terrible experience with a teaching strategies class brought mine right to the surface, lol. (As you can see, I don't buy into the old saying 'time heals all'.)

I know I'm going to resent the way my time was wasted in this class for a good long while. But it serves to reinforce what kind of teacher I DON'T want to be, so there's that. ; )
