down memory lane
it has been raining in milan for the past 3 days. and the rain tonight (now) is especially heavy and even with lightning. >< this kind of weather just makes me wanna stay at home and not go for lessons. haha.
anyway, had a great time today singing karaoke with grace in our house! we sang for 3 hours straight using karaoke mtvs from youtube (oh youtube we love you!) and our repertoire ranged from cheesy chinese emo songs like jay chou to high songs like mayday to sweet duets and then on to japanese classics like first love and endless story, AND then to english songs which had a mix of hiphop (think BEP), r&b (think chris brown + rihanna), dance (think lady gaga), rap(eminem!), retro (blue!), pop (mraz!!! <3) and country (taylor <3). hahaha and we even zi high using 1.5litre water bottles as microphones and dance and jumped like siao to the songs! HAHAHA it was so shiok! i think we're both suffering from ktv deprivation for too long.
and then after that on facebook, saw junita uploaded a series of videos of songs from the good old days! classic songs from boybands like BSB, n'sync, A1, savage garden and the moffatts whom we used to love so much when we were young!! OMG did i just said "when we were young"?! i have to admit that im really old now nehhh. >< but those were really the best times. just by watching all the videos of the songs made me remember the times in primary and secondary school when i used to idolise these bands and buy all their CDs, collect pictures of them on magazines, etc etc. HAHA sounds so teenage girlish huh. cheesy boybands BUT I LIKE! hahaha and not to forget spice girls too! their songs were amazing and they were like the ultimate cool back then. (b4 britney came along lol) still rmb i used to choreograph dance moves to n'sync and A1 songs and perform them for school performances, LOL.
so now as a tribute to the good old times im gg to post videos of songs of all my favourite bands! :):):)
1) S Club 7 -Bring it All Back
My all time favourite band from back then! i LOVED their show and watched every single episode of it. still rmb i wouldnt miss a single episode of the show and would be damn sad if i did. and of course, i LOVED ALL their songs and bought every single one of their cds. and yes, i was devastated when they disbanded. it was like, one of the saddest moments of my life, HAHA. and i chose bring it all back cos it was their very first single and how i got to knew them:) now watching the video again, im thinking how come i loved them so much when there isnt even a single cute guy in the band! hahaha but i still rmb i loved hannah. lol
2) N'sync -It's Gonna Be Me
My fav boyband! LOVED N'sync! and YES, i was one of those girls who loved JT, HAHA! yes i loved JT back from when he had those almost scary curls, LOL. but hey, he was really cute back then okies. i still cant believe how much he has changed over the years. I STILL CANT BELIEVE HE DUMPED BRITNEY!! LOL sorry the bitter fangirl reared her ugly head out for a moment. haha. and it's gonna be me is like my fav n'sync song! it was the song i stayed back everyday after school back in sec sch times to practise the dance moves and sing along to. full of memories definitely:)
3) Spice Girls -Say You'll Be There
Hola spice girls, every (normal typical) girl's fav girl band in the 90s! haha wanted to post Wannabe actually but couldnt find a video on youtube that didnt have embedding disabled. >< but anw the girls had soooo many classic songs and this is one of them. miss posh spice is, in fact, living in the same city as me at the moment (i think). LOL. especially when i go to the montenapoleone area where the giant armani store is, her posters (tgr with dear becks) are EVERYWHERE. haha. but who can tell me her favourite wasnt baby spice? lol.
4) A1 -Same Old Brand New You
A1!! my sec school addiction:) had all their cds and used to sing and dance along to their songs in sch too. haha. had a harddd time deciding which song to post but finally decided on this. i guess cos this song was kinda different from all the other boybandish songs at that time? lol i duno. oh it reminded how much i loved ben! for those who dunno which is ben, he's the cute guy with the center parting hair which is painful to watch now (it was SO IN back then okay!) but nevertheless still cute, hehe. and i still think he sings the best in A1.
5) Westlife -I Lay My Love On You
How could i possibly forget westlife? it was the boyband who lasted the longest (or tried the hardest, lol) afterall. haha. not exactly my favouritest band but still love their songs cos its oh-so-good. i mean, i still sing uptown girl when i go ktv these days, can u believe it? 'nuff said.
6) The Moffatts -I'll Be There For You
Woohoo the moffatts! Possibly the first real band (who plays instruments) i ever loved. haha. my fav was dave, who turned out to be gay! >< ARGHH.
Okay hoped you've enjoyed all the songs. hopefully, they bring back memories for you as well. and if u happen to be young and have never heard of them, well then you know what you've missed out on! haha
