Soooo....Ive never riden on one of those teeny tiny planes before....and i must say it was teeny....but i didnt have a fat guy with a cold sitting next to me either. Granted....not that many people are going to abilene, texas anyway. Unfortunately, I was accosted by airport security because theyre little xray machine detected 3 small metal strips in my bag....and we dont want little metal strips on planes. No no no. So the lady gets a real nasty attitude with me and starts going through my bag while two very short and hardly scary men stand behind me (As if *I'd* run away without my shoes!!!). Low and behold!!! Those 3 little metal strips...were living inside my mana......dont they feel stupid now. NOw give me back my shoes!!!
Dallas airport is huge. I lucked out cuz my second flight was in the same terminal....just on the other side. It only took me half an hour to get there. ~_~ Seriously...where are the teleportation devices??
I didnt get to abilene till 11 or so (yay hurricane season delays), but a have asleep eric and gabe met me in the smallest airport on the planet. By then it was too late to go see Rose, so we opted to go to wendy's. Crashed when we got home.
I slept on the air matress in eircs room. I went to sleep with a pillow, blanket, and teddy......I woke up with a pillow, blanket, teddy, a chihuahua, assorted fire trucks and farm equipment, an elmo couch, and a 2 year old toddler. How the fuck did i sleep throught all that?!?!?
I was all puffy tho....ouchies. Stupid allergies.
We went to the hospital around 7ish......gabe went to see rose....i chase eric through prenatal. I showed him the nursery....he was confused i think. They took Rose to pre-op around 10:30 or so, so gabe took eric to the daycare and i went with rose to pre-op. Her IV stopped dripping so they had to re stick her.....only they couldnt. So they had to call the dr....who couldnt get it in a vein either. Eventually, it went in...eventually.
Gabe came back to pre-op.....with popcorn. ~_~ He brought popcorn into a room full of people who hadnt eaten for the past 12 hours and sat there eating it in front of everyone.....at least till rose yelled at him and told him to get rid of it. Amaya is a sneaky little thing....no one could ever get her on the ultrasound and as soon as they would the little squid wouls swim away!! This ones trouble...I knows it!!
They took her for surgery around 12:30 so gabe and i went to the cafeteria....mmmm....oreo cream pie....... They started operating around 1 so Gabe and i played Uno our in the lobby. Bird 3, Gabe 2. VICTORY!! He decided to sleep after that...sore loser....so i stayed up and played solitare for a while. The doctor called down around 2 to tell us that the surgery went well and they they had her in the recovery room and wanted to keep her there for about an hour to run some other tests and then they were going to move her to the labor and delivery ward. Ok....so i made all the necessary calls then took a nap.
We didnt get to see her till about 430. She was in a lot of pain. They didnt want to give her a cathater....but she couldnt get up to pee......that was fun to watch the nurses sudden realization that rose had just had abdominal surgery and had to pee. She was having contractions every 3 minutes, but the monitor wasnt registering most of them so we think it was wrong.
Anyway....Gabe took me to get Eric around 5. So the last we heard was contractions approx. 2 min apart, cathatar in, demoral was good, and Amaya is a sneaky squid.
Fell asleep on the couch till around 630 or 7 then i got up and made dinner. After dinner it was bathtime for eric....i let him splash even though his momma said no (its not my fault some idiot decided to put carpet in the bathroom. I put a towel down). Sent him off to bed around and hour or so ago....and now im all alone in a strange apartment with 2 ratty little dogs for company. ;_;
