GIIIIIG

Wow ! Yesterday I went with Carine to a small gig in Paris. It. was. Awesome.
On a thursday afternoon, after school, I met some guys outside the high school giving flyers for a small gig where 3 bands would play : Les Belettes Ekrazees (the crushed weasels) Dice Curse and Side Effect. I had never heard about any of these bands, but it would be a "christmas punk party" (thats what was written on the flyer)... So I talked carine into going there.
We went yesterday, tuesday 27th. We had a hard time to find the place, and almost fell and DIE because of the snow on the street, and also because it was very cold lol. But finally we got there, (almost) on time, to learn that ppl under 18 werent allowed (some guys obviously too young were arguing with the guy at the entrance for him to let them get into the pub). We played it cool and werent asked to show any ID cards, and got into really easily. After paying the 5 euros we sat down a two small armchairs (we were really lucky on that one for almost every other seats were taken). We were on the left side of the (very) small stage, just next to the musicians that were drinking before going on stage. I spotted a guy with a anti-flag hoodie. He had a very cool cap and laughed a lot.
The Belettes Ekrazées got on stage and began getting ready. They started their first song 3 times and began to become nervous. The other musicians next to us started to joke with them and encourage them. This first band were a hxc band, and were actually pretty young (17 -19). I dont like what they did, the guitarists werent really good, and the singer sounded like an agonizing pig. But they did have courage lol. Carine and I didnt leave our seats. They didnt stay long, and soon they were gone. The singer came near us and began to chat with his mother and sisters, seated just next to us. I don't think his mother really liked the music lol.
The guy with the anti-flag hoodie got up and started to get his guitarcase. With Carine, we decided to go and get near the stage for that band. When they began to play a bit we immediately saw that they werent like the previous band. THEY were a real band, with real musicians in it lol. So we asked the belettes ekrazees singer's mother to look after our coats, and left to go near the stage. They began to play and it was absolutely awsome. I really wish I had taken my camera with me. The singer / bassist was really awsome and played really well. The singer / guitarist (the guy with the antiflag hoodie) sang in English with a very good accent and the lyrics were good. The other guitarist (main guitarist) played very well, as weel as the drummer. Moreover, not only did they play well, but they were also funny (thats great when youre at mall gig like that and that the artists are so close to the audience), and they danced and jumped etc while playing, which is 1/great 2/funny 3/wonderful considering the size of the stage. A th end, during their 2 last songs, 3 or 4 guys (I reconized someone from my highschool) started a mosh pit and it was rather funny to watch. Then the singer and bassist jumped off scene and danced with the mosh pitters, still playing. It was very cool.
Then we went back to our seats. I knew for a fact that the last band would also be a hxc band. So we got in front of the stage when they began to get ready. After the first song, even though the musicians were good and the singer (girl who sang very well), we left, cuz I dont really like that kind of music, and it was begining to get late and so on. So we left, avoided a few chavs yelling in the streets, and got back to the subway.

All in all, it was a very good evening, and Im going to look for next dice curse shows...
( if you google dice curse you ll find their official site with mp3 on it. I recommend "have a nice time" and "party time"..old ones cuzTheir new ones that they played during the gig are not on the site ).
