...it's a post that's not about my gorgeous niece Audrey!
Nope, I got myself a
Kindle.
I received a $50 Amazon gift card for Christmas, so I decided to give it a whirl. Seeing as I have an iPad and didn't need it for anything more than just reading, I got the most basic model and only ended paying a whopping $29. So far I like it. It's cute and the screen is very much like reading a page of paper. I still have to get used to it though. I keep trying to swipe the screen to turn a page rather than hit the button on the side. Whoops. I did have the Kindle app for iPad, but I can only look at a screen like that for so long before my eyes start to swirl around in my head and all the anti-glare/protection covers I've found have crummy user ratings (nobody can smooth the bubbles off the screen, you guys!). If anyone knows of a good anti-glare film, do share. I also got an adorable
protective sleeve that I only wish came in iPad size so they could be matchy. Get with it, Timbuk2!
So, anyway, this is very much of the good because I also have Amazon Prime which allows one to "borrow" certain books for free. I was concerned that if I ever got a Kindle, I'd bankrupt myself by buying books instantly. Not necessarily the case now. Yayz!
Oh, and the USB cable is compatible with current iPod/iPad chargers. Totes convenient.
