Old news is old...

Momma D was watching Ghost in the living room and I considered joining her, but it was making me a tad bit sniffly. Y'see, since I was but a wee child, I've always thought that Patrick Swayze looked like my late uncle Jeff and as such have always associated one with the other. So, I had this sentimental attachment to The Swayze and I was more than a little sad when he passed away. I guess watching a movie where he plays a ghost was a bit much no matter how effin' funny Whoopi Goldberg is in that movie.

Although, I could watch this scene over and over again.

I've almost neared the end of The Great Sopranos Rewatch of 2009. There is a definite advantage to watching them all in a row, the list of secondary characters is quite large and the fact that the seasons were so spaced out when they were on HBO made it hard to remember them all (seriously, there was over a year between seasons 4 and 5). Some guy who had maybe five lines in a certain episode would come back and be involved in some key moment and I'd be like, "Who's this guy again?" There's also a downside. I think the violence and ignorant intolerance of the characters (especially the type surrounding the whole Vito being a finook plot) was getting to me and causing me to have lots of thoughts and feelings. Damn you, David Chase and your brilliant writing and casting!

Also, too much A.J. Soprano makes me want to start punching people in the face. Such an ass!

Last Thursday we went out for lunch for Gramma F's birthday and that was totally fun times. We went to Chelo's and lunch was crazy delicious and we even threw caution to the wind and had dessert...because Gramma only turns 87 once! Although the desserts were ridonkulously huge. My aunt ordered a strawberry shortcake that was more like a strawberry tallcake and I don't think I was able to eat even half of my ice cream sundae (not that I should really be eating one anyway...I should've just told them to put some of that delish fresh whipped cream in a bowl with a cherry on top), but it sure was good. It's also nice to get Gramma out of the house from time to time since she really can't just go out by herself because of her eyesight which is a damned shame because she used to like going out and doing things. Oof!
