There was much wringing of hands and gnashing of teeth and smoking of cigarettes last night and all for one reason: I went to bed early. 9:30pm, in fact. The shock!
Now, this is waaaaaaaay earlier than I would normally go to bed. Like, seriously, almost six hours early. I swear my body is on West Coast time. Anyhow, at 9:15 last night I could barely keep my eyes open as I lounged on my bed, the Maxxycat nestled in the crook of my arm. I normally would've just rolled over and let the sleepies wash over me, but I could not, for I had a choice to make and I had to make it quickly. I could have just gone to sleep like a normal tired person, but no, that's not how it works because in the next room, lying on the couch, watching the Lifetime network was Momma D: The Worrier and this deviation of the norm would certainly cause alarm. So, I went out and warned her that there was nothing wrong, I felt fine, and that I was tired from not having slept well the night before...all the truth. Silly, I know, but I figured it was better to warn her rather than have her discover me sleeping and create a scene waking me up. Well, my little disclaimer did nothing to allay any of her fears, but that's what moms are for, I suppose and what actually happened was that I slept until about 12:30, went to the kitchen for some iced tea and ended up watching Frasier and The Golden Girls (we just lurve the Lifetime network in this house!) until 2am and then went back to sleep. So, what I really did was take a nap before bed, which is almost as weird as me hitting the hay at a "normal" hour. As a matter of fact, we're aiming for a 12am bed time tonight even if sleep does not occur (I might just read...or watch Frasier!) just because I won't have to explain myself to Brother Adam, Esq. who goes to bed early anyway. He's a responsible adult now. Good to see one of us turned out that way.
Yeah, I know this post has no purpose, wanna fight about it?!
