I would like some cheese with my whine...

Here's my problem. My lab is not a very high volume lab so when there's no film to do the techs have to help out with stuff in the rest of the store. This is not so much of a problem when I'm not in the frame of mind where I wish for the building to implode in the middle of the night or for me to come down with some sort of illness that will keep me out for a week. To put it bluntly, I spent the greater part of today wanting to take a long walk off of a short pier so being stuck ringing was not helping my level of happiness increase. The worst part is that there's no justifiable argument that I can come up with. If I complain about having to ring all the time, then they'll tell me, "Well, you could work on the floor, but you don't like that either and every time we give you the option you pick ringing so what do you expect us to do, let you hang around in the break room on the company dime until a roll of film comes in for you to process?"

You simply can't argue with that! It would be different if I was in the sort of situation where I have a ton of film and they're making me ring by myself...which has been known to happen. At least then I have a leg to stand on. So what's a gal to do?

Ugh, I need a job with a desk...and a chair. It doesn't help that I had absolutely no desire to set foot on the floor this morning. I took forever to get out of bed. I took forever to get out of the shower. I took forever to get dressed. I had to eat, but I couldn't have been bothered even though I knew there'd be trouble ifin I didn't so I had to choke down some food. Feh, feh I say.

Oh, oh! And for the second time this week I was stuck in CVSHell while my whole family, my whole family was at the beach. I haven't particularly cared for the beach in a long time, but if I had a choice between going to work where I'm on my feet all day in the hot city dealing with sweaty, cranky customers or enjoying a nice Dunkin' Donuts fueled ride to beautiful and scenic South County, Rhode Island with my mom and two favorite cousins to meet up with my aunt and spend the day at the beach bobbing up and down in the cool, salty surf...Portuguese Men-of-War be damned!...well, CVS can suck it! I wish I didn't have to be in at 8am tomorrow. I hate closing and then opening the very next day, it feels like I never left.

Being an adult is highly overrated.

annoyances, cvs, work, stuff i hate, blathering, ranting, whinging
